Rachel Reider Interiors + Chapman House

I have quite the obsession with all things Nantucket, so imagine my delight when I saw this! The chic boutique hotel was designed by the Boston-based interior designer Rachel Reider, and I have to say I've never seen such a cool hotel, a hotel so up my design alley, in all my life...forget that it's even in Nantucket! Chapman House was built in 1717, but Rachel recently gave it one heck of a facelift. Public areas and each of the 11 unique guest rooms, captured here by Rare Brick, are brought to life with fabulous fabrics, bold colors and yummy prints, not to mention way-cool lighting, furniture and floor coverings. I love that there's still a coastal vibe (it is Nantucket after all) but not a whale to be seen! Get all the info on the hotel right over here, and see more images and learn about the project over at Rachel's website!

So happy it's Friday! This weekend Chris and I are headed off on a road trip to Montana! We're spending next week in a tiny little cabin in the middle of nowhere! We will get to see some great national parks though and hopefully a ton of wildlife. Feel free to follow me on Instagram! (May not be a whole lot of turquoise this trip....but I'm always on the lookout!) I have some guest bloggers ready and waiting to share some really great projects with you guys though, so keep on coming back while I'm away!

Caitlin Wilson Design

Caitlin Wilson has long been a favorite designer of mine. Just looking at her fantastic Philadelphia penthouse apartment photographed by Courtney Apple, I'm sure you can see why! Known for her fresh use of color and bold patterns, and an incredible textile line that incorporates both, Caitlin successfully mixes high-end with bargain finds for a look that's unexpected and unique. I love every element from her home–where she also runs her business, from the bold colors (the foyer painted Key Largo Green by Benjamin Moore!!) and patterns to the eclectic mix of pieces collected from their life and travels abroad. You can see lots more from Caitlin and learn the sources of things above over at Design*Sponge and her feature in Matchbook Magazine. Definitely don't miss her always-inspiring blog either, as well as this post here with my favorite project of Caitlin's!

Diamond and Baratta

If anyone knows how to make a strong statement with turquoise, hands down it's Diamond and Baratta. I've shown you the vibrant home from the first image before (how could you forget it?), but I just came across the foyer and had to share it too. That chandelier made my heart stop! The other entrance I found on Absolutely Beautiful Things is from another Florida home designed by these two color geniuses. Granted we might not want to live in either home, but how fun to look at or visit. You just have to hand it to these guys for taking such bold risks!

Thanks for all your great suggestions yesterday about my upcoming trip to New York! You guys are so awesome! :)

John Willey...and Your Help!

"Life's too short for an all-beige room." I couldn't agree more with John Willey of Willey Design LLC who designed this amazing Hamptons home featured in this month's issue of East Coast Home + Design and photographed by David Jacquot. I love the personality of the entire space...it's sophisticated, but fun-loving and comfy too. You really can't go wrong with Mother Nature's beachy color palette, sunshine and all!

If you guys were reading along a year ago, you may remember last November Chris and I actually took a trip out east to the Hamptons and NYC. You guys gave us so many fantastic ideas of what to see and where to go, we had such a blast. Well we've decided to return again this year, but for 10 days. So in a few short weeks that's where I'll be! You don't even know how excited I am. I just have to ask you guys again, since I have a lot of new readers now, do you have any recommendations?? Where to stay, eat, play, etc? We're hoping to spend 5 days on Long Island around the Hamptons (with a car), and 5 in Manhattan (with good shoes). Plenty of time to see and do a whole lot! Thanks in advance you guys, I can't wait to hear what you have to say! THANK YOU!

Sceneries Armonia

I was instantly smitten with LA-based designer Emily Ruddo of Armonia Decors when I saw her fabulous work popping up on so many of my favorite blogs over the last couple weeks. Like so many of us, Emily gravitates towards blue, and uses the coast and water as inspiration in many of her designs. She is a big fan of creating spaces where people feel harmonious and calm, but more importantly, better about themselves when they are in them. (Love that.) The right blends of color are usually a part of her equation, as you can see from these amazing photos taken by photographer Meghan Beierle-O'Brien. Check out her blog for lots of inspiration and ideas, and her portfolio right over here!

Country Decor

You just don't see stuff like this here in the States. Straight out of France, this home featured in Campagne Décoration is storybook beautiful. I can't even imagine eating dinner at that dining table, surrounded by the aqua-painted eighteenth century woodwork. Don't even get me started on a soak in that tub! And that armoire is killing me! See more of this glorious home right over here!
