Frosted Robin Cupcakes

It doesn't get much sweeter than turquoise and pink! Ok...maybe if there's cupcakes involved! Sheree Harrison, the owner of Frosted Robin Cupcakes, chose the captivating combo for her delightful and delicious cupcake cafe in Seaport Village, San Diego. (She was actually inspired by photos on my blog!) I'd say the wall color she used inside is darn right perfect...so of course it has to be custom! I can tell you though that the yummy doors and windows are painted Dunn-Edwards "Teal Me No Lies". Other than the color scheme, I love that Sheree instilled a home-away-from-home vibe in her cafe, inspired by childhood family gatherings in the kitchen. That's a place I want to be–the cupcakes are just a bonus! Learn all about Frosted Robin Cupcakes right over here! (Don't blame me if you're hungry afterwards!)

One Girl Cookies

This week I'm going to be sharing some highlights from my trip to New York, starting off with the culinary highlight: One Girl Cookies. This adorable artisanal bakery and cafe in Brooklyn was suggested to me by my reader Kara, who happens to be a food writer. Their entire space is filled with just the prettiest shade of turquoise. The cookies, cupcakes and baked goods were displayed so perfectly, everything smelled delicious, but I have to tell you, the chocolate cupcake I ate (with turquoise frosting, of course) was hands-down the BEST cupcake I've ever had. No lie. (And as this was our last day in the city, we'd sampled our share over Manhattan and Long Island!) The whoopie pie we had was DELICIOUS as well, soooo yummy. I highly suggest visiting this place next time you're in New York....well worth the trip to Brooklyn! Check out their website here for more info and some mouthwatering photos!

Also head on over to Mimi & Meg today where I am sharing a favorite holiday tradition of mine, in addition to a holiday gift guide. (I'm sure you won't be too shocked with some of my picks!) :)

Soho House Berlin

Today we're in Germany at the decadent Soho House Berlin, designed by Susie Atkinson. The 40-room boutique hotel is located in an old department store building, which was seized to be the home of the Hitler Youth base during WWII, and later the headquarters of the East Germany Communist Party. Talk about a colorful past! I'm loving the herringbone parquet floors and all that velvet. The headboards are so grand! And what about the spectacular event space, The Politbüro?! Holy mackerel! Promise me if you ever have a party here, I'm invited!

Urban Gypsy Design

Just how awesome is this bathroom belonging to San Francisco interior designer Blythe Friedmann of Urban Gypsy Design?? I love all the vintage touches! That neat old bathroom door with the "bath" sign on it is the cutest thing I've seen all day. And I'm really digging the row of mirrored cabinets. Blythe also designed the above restaurant called Weird Fish in San Francisco. Has anyone been there? It has such a cool vibe to it! To see more images of her home and her work, head over to Apartment Therapy! Have a fantastic weekend everyone! :)

Turquoise in SoHo

One of the neighborhoods we kept finding ourselves in while we were in New York was SoHo...so much going on there. I loved all the cute boutiques, including these turquoise head turners. Pearl River Mart had a lot of fun stuff, like the glowing turquoise Buddha I didn't know I needed. And just how awesome is that Tribeca Taco Truck?! I wish we had one of those in Minneapolis!
