Ghislaine Viñas

Thanks to Cococozy, I was introduced to this colorful beach house in Montauk designed by Ghislaine Viñas. When I was out in NY back in November, Montauk was my favorite place we visited. I loved strolling the beache and the streets looking at the houses, imagining what they looked like on the inside. So fun to get peak in this one that's so right up my alley. The bright colors, the light-filled rooms...it's a place I'd love to call home! Head over to Cococozy, because there's a bunch more rooms you definitely don't want to miss! (And the view, you gotta see that too!)

Thanks so much to those of you, including Ghislaine Viñas, that alerted me to a story in the NY Times this week all about turquoise. The piece in an interview with Ms. Viñas about her love of color, and the fantastic ideas she has about incorporating turquoise in a home. Check it out here!

Tobi Fairley

If you've seen this month's House Beautiful, you've surely drooled over this home in Fayetteville, Arkansas designed by Tobi Fairley. I must share it here for those of you yet to see it (and for my own collection, of course!) I love the glamour of it all. But the living room just takes the cake. All that blue!!!! I honestly can't pick my favorite feature...the furniture, the walls, that glorious rug... it's all incredible. I also appreciated what Tobi said..."I wanted to wrap the living room in layers of pale blue tones without a lot of contrast. If you use color devoid of contrast, it becomes almost like a neutral." Very good to know! :)

And lastly, this stunning 12' turquoise leather Chesterfield below was part of the Soho House’s Oscars House in a room designed by George Smith partnered with The Rug Company. Luckily for us, it's now for sale through the Los Angeles showroom of George Smith Furniture and Fabrics! Isn't it a beauty?!

About a year ago I was meandering through the Room and Board Outlet (we're very fortunate here in Minneapolis to have the only one!) Among all the discounted treasures was the most gorgeous turquoise velvet sofa. *gasp* I stared at it, sat on it, stared at it, sat on it....you get the picture. It was wasn't cheap (although a good price for R&B), but I was more worried about where I'd put the thing. Honestly though I wondered if a turquoise velvet sofa was really practical. I finally concluded it probably wasn't and walked away sad and empty-handed. Today the answer is definitively YES, it's highly practical! I'd snatch that baby up in a heartbeat!

Have a great weekend everyone! :)

A Plus!

I love the pale shade of aqua on the wall and on sofa paired up with the chic black and white. The pillows on the bed are such a cute touch, and I just love those window treatments and zebra rug. Way cool headboard too. What a great room! via Home Sweet Home

Helen Green

I was happy to discover the incredibly talented designer Helen Green by way of Willow Decor last week. I didn't realize it but Helen is one of Britain’s leading interior designers for luxury hotels and private clients. I can see why! This master bedroom is just so elegant and chic. Love that tufted sofa and canopy bed!

Janet Lohman

These pretty bedrooms were all designed by Janet Lohman. The palettes are so peaceful and calming. I'm not usually a big fan of upholstered headboards, but these I'm loving, especially in the first image with the matching comfy sofa. I love the lighting in the room with the matching twin beds. What a great guestroom!
