Summer lovin'!

I am feeling the summer vibe big time today! That first image completely drew me in when I saw it on photographer Kip Dawkins website. It's just so...me. The colors are FABULOUS. Man-oh-man do I love all of that bright and breezy fabric! And rightly so...the image is actually an ad for Trina Turk's line of indoor/outdoor fabric for Schumacher. And I thank Brabourne Farm for finding the middle image from the portfolio of photographer Russell Sadur. Long live turquoise and lime green!

Perusing the portfolio of designer John Willey is like taking in a breath of fresh spring air! (Spring?? Ha! Minneapolis is expecting 8-12 inches of new snow!) I've shown part of this Nantucket home that was also featured in House Beautiful before (maybe you remember the very lovely aqua and orange room here) and of course that chandy from my chandelier post, but the rest of the home is equally as crisp and refreshing! Sun and sky...that's what I'm talking about!!

Seafarers Beach Cottage

I was so happy to learn about In My House by way of Absolutely Beautiful Things. These are images from one of Catherine's newly renovated beach cottages. I spy my Ikea four-poster bed (well, WILL be mine...!) Now how about that kitchen. The stainless steel is such a fun, unexpected pairing with the aqua and white. So cool!! Designed by the uber-talented Margot Austin and captured by photographer Donna Griffith, I just adore all the colors used in the space. What teenage girl wouldn't love to call this room her own?? What with that dreamy bed, practical work area, and cheery little sitting area by the window?! Perfection!

As much as I love turquoise paired with totally different colors (pretty much every color, if you haven't figured that out by now...), I also have a big weakness for keeping things in the family. I've been super excited to do this post for awhile, but it's taken me a long time to collect the images. Currently I am completely crazy for turquoise paired with cobalt blue. It's been really hard to find pictures of that combo...but if anyone can find 'em, I will! Of course I always think it's fun to add a bright pop of yellow, orange or green in an otherwise blue room too. I hope you enjoyed all these cool blue rooms! Have a fantastic weekend everyone! :)
