Frosted Robin Cupcakes

It doesn't get much sweeter than turquoise and pink! Ok...maybe if there's cupcakes involved! Sheree Harrison, the owner of Frosted Robin Cupcakes, chose the captivating combo for her delightful and delicious cupcake cafe in Seaport Village, San Diego. (She was actually inspired by photos on my blog!) I'd say the wall color she used inside is darn right perfect...so of course it has to be custom! I can tell you though that the yummy doors and windows are painted Dunn-Edwards "Teal Me No Lies". Other than the color scheme, I love that Sheree instilled a home-away-from-home vibe in her cafe, inspired by childhood family gatherings in the kitchen. That's a place I want to be–the cupcakes are just a bonus! Learn all about Frosted Robin Cupcakes right over here! (Don't blame me if you're hungry afterwards!)

Caitlin Wilson Design

Caitlin Wilson has long been a favorite designer of mine. Just looking at her fantastic Philadelphia penthouse apartment photographed by Courtney Apple, I'm sure you can see why! Known for her fresh use of color and bold patterns, and an incredible textile line that incorporates both, Caitlin successfully mixes high-end with bargain finds for a look that's unexpected and unique. I love every element from her home–where she also runs her business, from the bold colors (the foyer painted Key Largo Green by Benjamin Moore!!) and patterns to the eclectic mix of pieces collected from their life and travels abroad. You can see lots more from Caitlin and learn the sources of things above over at Design*Sponge and her feature in Matchbook Magazine. Definitely don't miss her always-inspiring blog either, as well as this post here with my favorite project of Caitlin's!

The Cross Decor and Design

When Chrissa the Design Junkie featured this space on her Facebook page a couple weeks ago, it immediately left me breathless. If I could decorate my home entirely in turquoise, hot pink and white, I'd be one happy camper. This suite from the Millennium Water Development featured on Carrie Leber's blog was designed by The Cross Decor and Design out of Vancouver. That bedroom is jaw-dropping...one of my all-time favorites! If you want to replicate the look in your home, most everything you see is available in their online store. I need that tufted bed!

Bear-Hill Interiors

I feel so validated using and loving pink now that Pantone has selected it as the color of the year (not that I was shy about it before or anything)! This delightful home designed by Kevin Walsh of Bear-Hill Interiors and featured in At Home in Arkansas is such a good example of using bits and pieces here and there to update your space. I'm loving the capiz chandelier so much. What a great fit for that cool dining table! To read more about the serene space, head here. And check out the Bear-Hill Interiors blog too, they have great content!

La Samanna Villas

Wow! You guys gave us some amazing ideas yesterday!! Thanks a million for all of your feedback, we so appreciate it! So many of you said how incredible the Caribbean is. I'd die, I swear to you, being somewhere like the La Samanna Villas on the island of St Martin. The extraordinary view of the Caribbean Sea would be the end of me! Not only is the view breathtaking, but the interiors designed by Marc Michaels are so elegantly comfortable, I can't believe it's not someone's home. I love how our favorite color is paired with oranges, reds, pinks and greens...for "a true Caribbean spirit"! If that is the spirit of the Caribbean, I'm so there!

Color of the Year!

I interrupt our regular schedule with this alert: The New Color of the Year! Pantone has replaced our beloved turquoise with Honeysuckle, a very lovely shade of pink. And I'm THRILLED! I immediately thought of this room from Homegoods when I heard the news. It's perfection, absolutely.

And get this...as you guys know, I got engaged a month ago. We're planning an April wedding (yes, 4 months from now!) and turquoise and this shade of pink are our colors!

I just read on BrandChannel:
With the Pantone blessing, watch for brand and product marketers to start emphasizing honeycolor pink, both because it's already trending upwards and it has now been labeled "the" color of 2011. But the selection of a hot color doesn't mean it will be used to the exclusion of others. Turquoise, the Pantone color of 2010, just happens to look smashing with hot pink, so it will likely continue to be used in 2011.
How exciting for us! I LOVE pink and turquoise more than anything!

The London Store Cross

I love this woman's bathroom in the magazine photographed by Winfried Heinze Casaviva. Enough space belongs to Sarah O'Keefe, one of the owners of the London boutique The Cross. None of you ever stop there, or your new home and inside the magazine "cross the road? (I love that!) If something like this bathroom, I'm there next time I'm in London! The ornate mirror and bathrooms are painted fab-u-Lous!

Anoushka Harlequin Collection

Get out of town! The new Anoushka collection from Harlequin is positively straight out of my dreams!!
Its provocative patterns and powerful colour palette have been cleverly planned to work together in a glorious bohemian fusion, deliberately clashing and harmonising at the same time. The overall aura of the collection is embracing and welcoming, aimed at creating a nurturing home.
Just looking at these images is curing the dreariness of winter (ok...almost) and getting me in the mood for spring. So eye-catching and flamboyant, I love it all! Have a great weekend everyone! :)

Edit: If you're located in the US, Sea Green Designs carries the fabric! Yay!
