Studio Ten 25

Immersing myself in a house full of pretty color (Wythe Blue!), fun pattern and fabulous furniture is what I call the perfect end to the week! This fabulous home was designed by Abbe Fenimore of Studio Ten 25 out of Dallas, Texas (and photographed beautifully by Melanie Johnson) for a newlywed couple that wanted a chic modern look for their first home together. The builder’s standard and more traditional finishes weren't working for them so Abbe had dark espresso hardwoods installed, dated lighting changed out and unveiled a black and white color palette with pops of turquoise and yellow! She also incorporated the wife's love for mirrored pieces while bringing in the bold graphics and masculine touches the husband was after. All in such perfect balance! Isn't the bedroom amazing?! (The couple–and Abbe's favorite room!) The curtains and bedding are so luxurious, not to mention that incredible headboard!

If you love Abbe's style as much as I do (EVERY room she's designed I love, how often can you say that??), definitely visit her online store Shop Ten 25! Also check out her website and blog too....so much inspiration, so little time!! Happy weekend! :)

Tobi Fairley + The Chancellor Hotel

When it comes to style, The Chancellor Hotel in Fayetteville, Arkansas has it going on! How fabulous is their Chancellor Suite designed by Tobi Fairley and photographed here by Rett Peek?! You'd never guess it was even a hotel! Tobi wanted to bring level of sophistication to Arkansas reminiscent of her favorite classic hotels like the Carlyle in New York City, but infused with her signature colorful style that we all love. I could eat up all those turquoise chairs and the yellow sofas...so plush, so gorgeous!! Check out more photos and learn all about the project at Tobi's Blog!

Rêve Décor

Is this room not entirely darling?! Interior designer Tawna Allred of Rêve Décor out of Star Valley, Wyoming created the cheery space, photographed beautifully here by Rebecca White. The room actually belongs to Tawna's two lucky little girls, ages 9 and 4, so she wanted it to be a little more grown up and fun...but also flexible! My favorite thing here is the adorable artwork. Her oldest daughter actually drew the pictures years ago and Tawna turned them into oil paintings! (A fab service she provides for everyone!) I just love the wainscoting, super-cute pendant lights and cozy bedding too! Check out more photos–including before's, and read all about the space right here!

Guest Blogger: Joann from Kandrac & Kole Interior Designs

Hi! – I’m Joann Kandrac – One half of Kandrac & Kole Interior Designs, Inc. based in Atlanta, Georgia.

I am also a turquoise lover like Erin and appreciate her asking me to guest blog while she’s away!

We received a call from a client who told us she had been “stalking us” through Pinterest, our website, and facebook.   She loved our style and called for a consultation for her outdoor space.  She had just completed a large backyard project incorporating a pool, spa, out door kitchen and eating and lounging area.

The space was beautiful but lacked color or style. We were thrilled to take it on!!

We had a lot of fun “stylizing” this space.  It was a beautiful spring day in Atlanta.  We had music playing, refreshing drinks and snacks, our amazing install team and a bowl of cherries to top it off!!

One of the great advantages we had was that the client was a big Pinterest fan and had been compiling outdoor spaces she loved.  Her boards gave us great insight into what she was drawn to.  She had several pictures of hanging swings.  We got right on that.

We are so fortunate to have access to so many talented people that work on our team!!  This custom swing was created by Mitch Mitton.

Here is the upstairs deck where we incorporated the tailor made swing, a zinc top table, and window treatments in all "outdoor friendly" materials.

We received this email from the client a couple weeks after the install:

"Tom and I were looking for a place to go while the kids are at camp, but couldn't find anywhere as wonderful as our own house. THANK YOU GALS SO MUCH!!!"

I just love my job!!

Joann

Cute Colorful Cottage

How cute is this cottage in Greensboro, North Carolina that was featured in Canadian Home and Country?! The 1939 Cape belongs to photographer Stacey Haines (a fellow turquoise lover) and her husband Steve, who renovated the space for less than $2,300. So many of the lovely items you see come from flea markets, yard sales and thrift stores, and they did all the work themselves. I know you all love that bedroom...it's just enough color that they only painted the one wall. Talk about pure heaven paired with all the white! Read more about this charming space here!

Sunny Yellow Cottage

Now and the summer sun, courtesy of Home Life magazine! This small hut near Sault Ste Marie, Michigan, could not be nicer. The owner chose a palette of yellow and green to reflect the light of summer and fill the room with heat and used turquoise as the perfect accent. I loved your tips for decorating on a budget: Be patient. She has been collecting these beautiful dishes with turquoise stripes Carrigaline, Cork, Ireland for over 10 years ... and never pay more than $ 1 each. That's how I like it!
