Sara Chandelier

House Beautiful

Hooked on Houses

If there's one reoccurring question I get (other than "what's your favorite paint color?"), it's "Where do I get that one chandelier...?!". As far as I was aware, this stunning antique bronze and hand-blown Egyptian glass chandelier was available only through Liza Sherman Antiques. Well when I was in NYC, I of course stopped in the wonderland that is ABC Home. What did I spot dangling in their out-of-this-world chandelier section?!

The Sara chandelier from Canopy Designs. Oh my word. "Based on an antique Egyptian light the Sara is old and new at the same time." I bet they were inspired to name it Sara after SJP and her Hamptons dining room in the last photo above. The helpful sales associate Lauren told me how it's hand made by them out of brand new materials, and is available in two sizes and 8 colors. The best part? It's a fraction of the price of the original. You can read more about it here, or email Lauren at canopydesigns@verizon.net.

And for full-disclosure, I was not compensated in any way for this post. But I wouldn't mind a new chandelier! ;)

Have a fabulous weekend everyone!

Bear-Hill Interiors

I feel so validated using and loving pink now that Pantone has selected it as the color of the year (not that I was shy about it before or anything)! This delightful home designed by Kevin Walsh of Bear-Hill Interiors and featured in At Home in Arkansas is such a good example of using bits and pieces here and there to update your space. I'm loving the capiz chandelier so much. What a great fit for that cool dining table! To read more about the serene space, head here. And check out the Bear-Hill Interiors blog too, they have great content!

Costas Picadas

When the proportion of AM child's room above his blog Cape Cod Design, I had a suspicion the rest of the house photographed by Costas Picadas must be damn cool too. So I did some research and found several photos of the party blue and white on the Greek island of Mykonos. These funky chandeliers are great and I want them all. While we're at it, I'll get spectacular views too! See more photos here!

Jeffrey Fisher Home

I'm delighted to share these rooms designed by Toronto-based Jeffrey Fisher Home and photographed so beautifully by Virginia MacDonald. The brother and sister team of Jeffrey and Deborah Fisher have the benefit of a unique background, her a career in advertising and Jeffrey in fashion design, that gives them a sophisticated and creative perspective. I'm captivated by every single itty bitty inch of that light-filled kitchen! And the addition of the coral in the dining room...yummy! To check out more of their interiors, head on over here!

Amy Bergman And Linda MacArthur

And yesterday was supposed to be all about the love?! Thanks, Traditional Home and photographer Emily Followill, my heart can't handle this!! Interior designer Amy Bergman and her husband Bret teamed up with architect Linda MacArthur to build their dream home in Atlanta. A haven for the busy family, the soft color scheme of taupes and pale blues throughout the home is soothing and harmonious. How fabulous is that scalloped stair wall following the curved lines of the upholstered banquette?! And those tufted dining chairs?! And that bathtub with the arched marble backsplash?!

Hamilton Design Associates

When I saw a tasty post filled with bold pattern and vibrant color on Gorgeous Shiny Things, I wasn't at all surprised to learn they were designed by Ellen Hamilton of Hamilton Design Associates. (She was, after all, the mastermind behind this marvelous bedroom.) Her portfolio is full of bold, colorful design, but also these dreamy seaside escapes too. That kitchen!!! Oh my word. Excuse me while I stare off into these images....it's snowing here....again. Ugh!!!

Country Decor

You just don't see stuff like this here in the States. Straight out of France, this home featured in Campagne Décoration is storybook beautiful. I can't even imagine eating dinner at that dining table, surrounded by the aqua-painted eighteenth century woodwork. Don't even get me started on a soak in that tub! And that armoire is killing me! See more of this glorious home right over here!
