Located in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico, Roses and Xocolat was designed by REYES RIOS + LarraĆn. All suites and rooms have private terrace with open bath, high ceilings, in response to the weather. The project design preserves the original spaces in both houses, where the common areas of the main hotel, these suites and a significant portion of the rear of the house were placed.
The new space added (approximately over 50% of the total obtained) was designed as a modern retelling, a new interpretation of the luxury home of the twentieth century Yucatan, which combines tradition and modernity. Use and selection of colors helps to connect the building with its natural and cultural context, to respond to the intense brightness of the sun of Yucatan and the Mexican tradition of architectural colors.
