Designed by NGOs and NGO Ltd, Studio M, this ocean-themed hotel is a landmark in the heart of Singapore. Because of its visibility and the social dynamics of the site and the idea was to design a landmark and memorable fashion worthy of gracing the historic river next to where it is. The result is the shape of a building a sailboat, where coverage is higher than the deck of a cruise. These features together a picture of a ship anchored in the river bank.
The rooms were designed as places work-life play that meet the needs of urban travelers. Designed as a "box within a box", each room of 15m2 is compact but luxurious, with a double volume space with a depth and a fully functional bathroom "pods" that can be easily modified to create a variety of types of rooms.
