Hong Kong, Kowloon Community College Campus



Designed by AD + RG, Hong Kong Community College - Campus West Kowloon is in Hong Kong. To maximize space and community education, the mass of the building is divided into the twin towers and tectonically linked by bridges that form the stage. The total area required floor plate is divided by floors each floor plate is very large and could lead to strange proportions. The floor plate also makes very high penetration of light and ventilation. The architects who created a separate approach in two towers, which provides a better cross ventilation and a more efficient floor plate. The central structures of association allow for better articulation of the common areas. The twin towers and the connecting structures are carefully structured to maintain the soundness and transparency. "Red Brick" tile is adopted for the twin towers, while the solid wall of glass coated aluminum transparent structures are used for connecting bridge.
