Coastal Cool in Saskatchewan

I fell madly in love with this floor when my reader Meghan from Regina,
Saskatchewan sent me these photos. She and her husband just bought and renovated their first home, relying on a strict budget and inspiration from the design blogosphere. The couple spent the last 3 years living in Halifax, Nova Scotia going to school, so the their porch is their ode to the coast and to the ocean-side cottage they can never have on the prairie! (I hear ya sister!) I know you are all wondering what paint she used (Cloverdale oil paint "Aqua Infusion" - #7506). Don't you love the red from the retro table and chairs?? Red, white and turquoise, my kind of 4th of July!!! I hope you all have one fantastic and safe holiday weekend!!! :D

Key West & Hallmark

What I'd give to spend a weekend in this adorable Key West vacation home designed by Todd Richesin! Melissa of The Inspired Room posted several photos from the very cool home featured in Traditional Home, but it was the guesthouse and pool that stopped me in my tracks. It's picture-perfect in every way!
Thank you all for your super-supportive comments again regarding my time at Hallmark! The presentation went SO WELL. I couldn't have been more pleased with my first-ever speaking engagement! I think the success can be fully attributed to the fact that I was talking about my two favorite things: turquoise and blogging! You guys should have seen the reception afterward. They had turquoise cupcakes that were painstakingly made by Hallmarker Laura of the blog Oh For Heaven Cakes (I can't get over that name...too cute!) They tasted just as fantastic as they looked! Loved the yummy turquoise punch too, talk about perfect color! A giant thank you to Scott, Susan and Marita for their kindness and hospitality. I thoroughly enjoyed every second with them! I had the fortune of meeting so many cool, creative people! I really dug the energy and creativity flowing through the halls of Hallmark, the inspiration everywhere was incredible. What a great experience!

For a recap of my presentation, including some more photos from the day, head over to the Dirty Laundry Blog! Jeanee is yet another cool Hallmarker with amazing talent! (You have to see the present she gave me, I promise you'll love it too!)

Georgia Carlee

I've featured the WaterColor, Florida home by Georgia Carlee of GCI Design before, but after taking a look at her portfolio, I had to feature it again, this time with some bonus images in addition to the ones from Traditional Home. (Plus now I know how to have larger images, 2 years ago I did not!) I love the soothing, beachy color scheme and all the natural elements...totally reminds me of the sand and sky. Definitely the perfect beachy home, if you ask me!

Cayo Espanto

If it wasn't for the internet, I'd never know that places like this exist. That's good and bad, because now I want to go. REALLY bad. But alas, my blogger's budget just doesn't allow for tropical vacations on private islands. Cayo Espanto, located in the western Caribbean off the coast of Belize, is a four-acre private-island resort with only five villas and one over-water bungalow. Each private villa has its own covered deck and freshwater plunge pool, in addition to its own pier and chaise lounges. But my favorite amenity? The spectacular views of the turquoise waters. Just seeing the photographs make me happy. And that's good. Thanks, Internet. :)

Bring Home the Beach

Sweet dreams are made of these! My favorite article in the May issue of Coastal Living was Bring Home the Beach. It featured this gorgeous beach home in South Carolina designed by Carter Kay, and photographed so beautifully by J. Savage Gibson. I don't even know what image is my favorite, I love them all to pieces. I'll tell you what though, staring at that first one really takes you away, doesn't it?? For these images and so many more, head to MyHomeIdeas! I hope you all have a fantastic weekend, whether you're by the beach or not!

The Vintage Table

The lovely Lynn of Paris Hotel Boutique recently introduced us to the most beautiful book called The Vintage Table by Jacqueline de Montravel and the editors of Romantic Homes Magazine. (Lynn herself was actually featured in the book...so exciting!! Congrats Lynn!) The absolutely breathtaking image you see above was also featured in the book. The Southern California ocean view deck belongs to Lucy of My Paris Flea Market. To spend only one afternoon out there would be complete bliss!! For more of a sneak peek into the book, head over to Paris Hotel Boutique!

Richard Drummond Davis Architect

I was so excited when Chris of Richard Drummond Davis Architect out of Dallas, TX emailed me with these amazing pictures. The first two rooms belong to a teenage girl whose favorite color is turquoise. Interior designer Robyn Menter did a fantastic job! That bathroom is a total dream come true!! *sigh* The last few images are from one of Chris's favorite projects. The owners wanted a house that looked like a postcard of a 1930’s Hollywood Spanish bungalow. I love it all (especially the turquoise island!!)
