Roberts Erickson Design

I'm dishing out the eye-candy today, complements of Roberts Erickson Design (remember that fab bedroom they designed?) The owners of this eclectic Myrtle Beach home featured in Grand Strand Magazine live here full-time, but still wanted to have a vacation vibe. They were very adamant about keeping things neutral, so pops of colors were brought in to create a look that coexists with the ocean-side landscape. The result is beachy, but not in a literal way. What I love the most is that the couple didn't start all over from scratch, they wanted to keep a lot of their original furniture and accessories. They just wanted an update. I'd say they got that and more! Too read all about their home, head here!

Elsa Soyars

I am really digging the work of Elsa Soyars, an interior designer born in Portugal. If you take a peek around her portfolio, you'll notice all of her rooms are like the ones above...tranquil and calm, yet elegant and refined. But it's the first image that I'm madly in love with. The earthy color palette and all the light streaming in...so beautiful! The bright Trina Turk pillow in the last couple images is just fab too...I love her peacock fabric so much I could eat it right up! Mmm mmm!

Diamond Baratta

Ok so I'm pretty sure that most of us wouldn't want to actually live in this colorful Captiva Island home designed by Diamond Baratta and featured in Florida Design magazine, but you have to admit, it's soooo much fun to look at! (And I'm sure we'd all take a room here or there, no?) Such a treat for the eyes...all that fearless, vibrant color, all that turquoise! I don't even know what I love best, maybe the kitchen with the funky pendants and turquoise backsplash. Or the family room with that fabulous “paisley gone wild” carpet. Or the loggia filled with turquoise cushions and the insane view of the Gulf of Mexico. Ok so maybe I would want to live here. If you're digging this scene, you have to check out this post I did last year on Diamond Baratta, and also their portfolio here! Enjoy your weekend everyone!!!

Southern Seaside Style

These folks in South Carolina don't exactly live seaside (although according to the map, they're a heck of a lot closer than I am!) but you'd never know it from their charming home photographed by Laurey W. Glenn and featured in Southern Living. I swear I'm hearing waves after looking at all those breezy porches! That swinging daybed?! I WANT ONE! I love all those shutters so much too, you just don't see them up here in Minnesota. We do have screened-in porches though, in fact mine is kinda like that last image. But I love how they have draperies made from waterproof sailcloth in theirs. My cute throw pillows and I could have used those during this nasty storm we had a few days ago! For more on this delightful home, head over to Southern Living! I hope you all have a fantastic weekend! :)

After seeing Meghan's amazing painted turquoise floor last week, I was determined to paint the floor in my new porch too. Now of course, after doing this post, I'm convinced the ceiling needs to be painted too. Maybe in EVERY room! Ha! As you can see from above, it's not just for front porches anymore. (Do you know why the paint of choice for many porches across the country is blue? Read about it here.) No matter the room, I adore the way it looks. So now I need to know...have any of you kicked it up a notch and painted your ceiling something other than white?? Blue perhaps?? ;) Have a great weekend everyone!
