Urban Gypsy Design

Just how awesome is this bathroom belonging to San Francisco interior designer Blythe Friedmann of Urban Gypsy Design?? I love all the vintage touches! That neat old bathroom door with the "bath" sign on it is the cutest thing I've seen all day. And I'm really digging the row of mirrored cabinets. Blythe also designed the above restaurant called Weird Fish in San Francisco. Has anyone been there? It has such a cool vibe to it! Yesterday Down and Out Chic had a great post about using restrained touches of turquoise in decor. This home from Sköna Hem was one of my favorite examples. This beautiful home belongs to my lovely reader Jola from Poland. I love how clean and fresh it all feels! And ooh how that turquoise pops! It's like this bedroom by Roberts Erickson Design was created just for me! That black and white upholstered headboard, the mix of prints, the gorgeous chandelier, pop of pink...and of course the perfect wall color...it doesn't get much better than this!

I've always loved the work of Miles Redd, and this fact was only reinforced when I ran across this room on Style Court belonging to Chassie Post, pulled from the March 2001 issue of House Beautiful. Black and white with turquoise is one combination I didn't need anyone else to discover for me! Black and white is so classic and sophisticated on its own, but throwing in a punch of turquoise just kicks it up a notch and makes it more fun. Throw in yet another splash of color, like hot pink or bright yellow, and I'm a goner!! Have a great weekend, my turquoise-loving friends! :-)

Pop of Pink

I absolutely love the hot pink pink chairs paired with the black and white striped sofa in this turquoise living room featured in the Spring 2009 Interior Decorating Trends post done by the Style Estate Blog. The built-ins surrounding the fireplace are fantastic too, as is the tufted bench. Actually, I think I love it all! The room is fun, but sophisticated too. Just my kind of style!
