Seaside Getaway

After seeing this living room on Inspiration for Decoration, I headed over to ILEX Construction to learn more about the amazing seaside getaway. I immediately thought Brooke Steuart after I saw that 2nd image. Remember the stairway in her beach home? Turns out she's the one that designed this home too. The tile on that fireplace is breathtaking...makes me want to go for a dip! I'm really digging the whitewashed hardwood floors too. So pretty!

Brooke Steuart

When I spotted this vacation home belonging to designer Brooke Steuart on the blog Low Tide High Style, it was the turquoise island that immediately caught my attention. After that initial shock passed, I noticed so many other details that make this a true dream kitchen. Love the bursts of orange and turquoise accessories, the glass tile on the backsplash and stairs, the collection of shells displayed in the island...not to mention the Viking appliances! Isn't it all so pretty lit up at night too?! To see even more of this beach home, head over here!

The Battery at Seasalter

I could have sworn I've featured part of this space before, but when I ran into more images of it on 1st Option, I was excited to share. The Battery is a beautiful building located on the coast of Seasalter in the UK. Interestingly enough, it was built in 1874 for the Royal Naval Reserve as a base for target practice with gunners firing out to sea. Somehow I doubt it was turquoise back then!

Molly Frey Design (& my bedroom!)

Feel like taking a mini-vacation to a friend's coastal home?? Just head over to the portfolio of Molly Frey Design! Need some inspiration or ideas?? She also has a really cool blog waiting for you too. You might recognize some of Molly's work...she's responsible for that "effervescent bathroom" you all loved, as well as the stunning "heavenly kitchen" I posted about back in June. I was excited to learn that Molly is from Marblehead, MA, a charming little coastal town where my cousin and his family live. I've never been, but have been dying to go there for a visit!

Lastly, you guys have to head over to the blog belonging to Emily A. Clark...all week she's been posting bedrooms that belong to some of our favorite bloggers. I'm thrilled that Emily asked me to participate! So if you want to see where I rest my head, head over here today...let me know what you think! :)

Have a great weekend everyone!

Tobi Fairley

If you've seen this month's House Beautiful, you've surely drooled over this home in Fayetteville, Arkansas designed by Tobi Fairley. I must share it here for those of you yet to see it (and for my own collection, of course!) I love the glamour of it all. But the living room just takes the cake. All that blue!!!! I honestly can't pick my favorite feature...the furniture, the walls, that glorious rug... it's all incredible. I also appreciated what Tobi said..."I wanted to wrap the living room in layers of pale blue tones without a lot of contrast. If you use color devoid of contrast, it becomes almost like a neutral." Very good to know! :)

Valentine's Day Inspiration

Neza Cesar
I hope you don't mind the addition of non-design related photographs here, but I had some of these yummy images bookmarked and felt this would be a great time to share them! There's not much I love more than turquoise being paired with red....but throw a little chocolate into the mix and I'm in huge trouble! I hope everyone has a très romantique Valentine's weekend!
